Take a Hike. December 7, 2009

The day before thanksgiving we headed out to Devil’s Den to hike a bit, considering the inevitable calorie intake that would happen the following day.  Jonathan took most of these pictures, which was nice for me because I was wearing Amelie during the hike. The kids were being pretty hilarious, so we got some fun pictures.

Who do you want to be? November 2, 2009

This mini conversation got me thinking:

Me: “hey what do you guys want be when you grow up?”.

Jeremy: ” superman!”

Naomi “tinkerbell!”

Jacob: “a dinosaur!”

I just can’t believe it has been 10 weeks since Amelie was born, and I can’t believe how fast time flies. Its seems to creep by slowly sometimes. Like today, where one extra hour, thanks to Daylight savings, seemed like it took forever to end. Realizing how much I want those looong days to end, makes me think how I should really relish this extra time with my kids. I look back at photos from days past, and think, I feel like life is happening to me sometimes, and I’m not really living it. Worrying too much about stuff that doesn’t matter, and missing the little things that do. It has been such a blessing and important element to my life as a mom, to have so many photographs of my children. It has been a great reminder to me to slow down, and enjoy my children, before they grow up, and become who they will be. I really hope Jacob doesn’t become a dinosaur

I usually don’t do blog posts like this, but I thought I would share what I have been thinking/tearing up about lately….and I think it’s good to blah-g it out sometimes.

Happy birthday…twins turns 3! October 15, 2009

Jacob and Naomi turn 3 today! We can’t believe how time flies and how they have grown up…although they are trashing the bathroom as I write this. It is their 2nd annual birthday flu. How lucky can you get! They are vegging out with movies and coming up with all sorts of fun/trouble.

This morning we had donuts, and they got their gifts from Jeremy, Mom & Dad and Mamie & Papou. Here are some fun pics we took. Oh and there will be some of baby Amelie, who will be 8 weeks tomorrow! I have not done well at updating this blog,but I have a good excuse I think

Kindergarten! August 19, 2009

Jeremy started Kindergarten today! He was SOOOO excited! Which makes me really happy. I will miss the guy though, and we had a such a fantastic summer. No tears…for now. Just photos.

First…Open house on Monday. We got to meet Jeremy’s teacher and he could check out his classroom and cubbie. He got a school goodie bag, which made him feel special. Jake and Naomi loved his class almost more than Jeremy and they both told me they want to turn 6. Go figure.

This morning:

Not quite the breakfast of Champions, but yummy for sure. Jeremy took a bit to wake up, but I think the sugar rush of magical marshmallows helped. Naomi and Jake joined us.  Oh and on a side note…that is the new table we’re at.  LOVE IT!

Getting ready:

Jeremy is very proud of his shoes, socks, backpack and shirt that HE picked out. Orange is  one of his favorite colors right now. He says Orange is a “fast” color.

Grapefest in Tonitown was really fun! Although we had a bit of sticker shock, the kids had a total blast. There is just something about watching your kids experience the chaos and excitement of a summer festival, that almost makes you forget how bad you are being hustled. Seriously, we drew the line at the $5.00 corn dog. We let them choose their thrills, and they (mainly Jeremy) picked out the motorcycle carosel (twice) and the Dragon Roller Coaster. We were so proud that they rode it all alone, and with out any tears! The Summer days are fading fast, and with school coming up & a new addition coming soon, we have really enjoyed these last spoils of summer fun. Here are some photos we snapped…Enjoy!

Mc Do Burgers, a Hike, and Go Karts! July 30, 2009

Last week we decided to get out and enjoy a rare Saturday off with the kiddos… We hit up McDonald’s and tried the new Angus Burgers..which were WAY better than any McDonald’s Burger I’ve ever had.

Jonathan had the Angus Cheeseburger, I had the Mushroom and Swiss…As you can see, I liked it a lot.

Then we headed off to Lake Fayetteville, for a little hike in the woods…it was way more humid than I thought, and I was seriously regretting my clothing choices.

Then we headed to Lokomotion for some Go Karting fun!  I think Jonathan had as much fun, if not more, than the kids…

So that was our fun family date! Can’t wait until the next one!

better late than never… July 12, 2009

I know, I know, its been like 5 months since I’ve done anything with this blog. I don’t even know HOW to update it at this point. So I will just update with some of our best adventures, and photos I love…

I will start with the latest:

2nd Saturday…Downtown Siloam Springs

1st stop- The Baby Habit Grand Opening of their new location. It looks amazing, if you haven’t been yet, what are you waiting for? Naomi hit up all the fun activities, face paint on both cheeks, and arms covered with flowers, lady bugs and what ever else she could think of. Then a balloon, and candy.

Next: GELATO!!!! Yummy! At Jolly Rogers Sweet Shoppe. If only the kids knew how awesome this treat really is. They had strawberry and vanilla, and we had Turkish Coffee.

Here is a horse we nearly spooked with the balloons on our way out The Balloon Closet. Sorry Miss Horse Lady. No Photos of the ballons though, kids popped them on the grass with in a few minutes. I was so bummed…not really..at all.

It was a lot of fun! It was hot too. I think we knew almost everyone that we saw!  So If you are wondering where the heck your friends are on the 2nd Saturday of the month, they are probably here!

Just keep swimming! March 13, 2009

Jeremy & Mommy went to the Aquarium @Jenks,OK this week. It was a really fun field trip, we saw; Sharks, turtles, Stingreys, creepy Morey Eels, Octopuses, Dorie, Nemo, Sea stars, even boring old Catfish. There is this tunnel that we walked though, and the sharks swam over us! Jeremy wasn’t so sure about it, but we still went, and it was so Amazing! Mom bought Jeremy a water toy, and then we got on this fancy bus to go home. We watched finding Nemo, and Mom fell asleep (she even drooled a little, which was embarrassing, but oh well). It was a great day! Here are some photos from it. Enjoy!

5 Alive! March 11, 2009

Jeremy turned 5 this week! He was so excited, he could hardly sleep.The other night we had his birthday party.Jeremy wanted a Rocket ship theme, so that is what we did. We had pin the fire on the rocket ship, Knock-Out the robot, we built spaceships, and ate pizza, opened gifts, and had a Rocket ship cake. It was so much fun, he had some great friends over, and they brought some super fun gifts. Here are some pics Mom and Dad took . Enjoy!

Take a hike! February 24, 2009

On Valentine’s Day we went Hiking at Devil’s Den State Park. It was out first real hike as a whole family. We had walking sticks, went part way into a cave (Jeremy was NOT excited about that), threw rocks, saw a waterfall, and even fell down a few times  (Jacob fell the most, as usual). We had fun freaking Mom out by getting close to the cliffs, it was funny, she didn’t think so though. We brought our dog Lucy with us too. We slept the whole way home. It was a super day, we can’t wait to do it again! Here are some pictures from our adventure!
